This place and staff were amazing! We had the most ultimate royal treatment and service imaginable. We were coming home from a road trip back to Colorado and were given a recommendation to visit Station 8 if we went through Wichita. We literally arrived shortly after they had closed but we tried the door and it was still open. Thank goodness we did! Not only did Marcell and Nick make us feel completely welcome, even after closing, they fed us abundantly with the best variety of BBQ meats and all the sides! We got to sample so many delicious foods that the owner/ chef, Alex prepares. He and his father even came to our table to welcome us to the restaurant. The brisket and ribs were incredible, and were our favorites! But the potato salad and beans were so good also. Now, if you get a chance to try this place, you will get filled up but I want to give you a tip, take home a bag (or 2) of their homemade BBQ peanuts for later and also the cinnamon apple cookies from Leah's Bakery they sell at the counter. Both of these were so good that I wish we had more! I am so grateful we got to eat at Station 8 and we really hope we can get back to Kansas to eat there again!

Wow! I did not expect to find a rival to Kansas City's best BBQ, and I've had them all, but yeah, we have a solid competitor right here in ICT. Melt in your mouth Pork Belly Burnt Ends - absolutely insane. Brisket was flavorful, moist, and the tenderness was spot on. The Pulled Pork was superb - 'goober-free'. Sauces were very tasty, more like Southeast style; definately not KC, TX or Memphis, but great, nonetheless. Less impressive was the Mac 'n Cheese side, as the sauce was just too much. Portions were very generous & price points were on-target. Not for the impatient. The line was long (an hour). There was a gifted minstrel outside, to help lift spirits, a very classy touch. Personally, a 30 minute wait is my limit, but days after dining at Station 8, I find myself being pulled back. End of the day, Station 8 is a must-try... remarkable!

My family and I had been waiting quite some time for the right weekend to finally visit Station 8 BBQ in Wichita, and when the opportunity came, we made the trip. We arrived around 11:15 in the morning and stood in line for nearly an hour. In many places that would test a man’s patience. Here it simply proved the point. When people are willing to wait that long for a meal, it usually means something is being done properly. Station 8 is not a typical barbecue restaurant. They do things on their own terms, and when the food is gone it is gone. There is something respectable about a place that commits itself fully to its craft rather than chasing convenience. The dish that first drew us in was the smoked biscuits and gravy, and it did not disappoint. The biscuits were hearty, the gravy rich, and the smoked brisket on top brought everything together in a way that made it clear real care went into the preparation. We also tried the Texas Twinky, a jalapeño wrapped in what appeared to be candied bacon with an excellent filling inside. It was a small item on the tray, but one well worth having. As any proper barbecue man knows, beef ribs are a necessary test, and Station 8 passed that test without hesitation. They were tender, full of flavor, and cooked exactly as they ought to be. Finally, we had the brisket mashed potatoes with red wine gravy, which proved just as satisfying as everything that came before it. What stood out just as much as the food was the spirit of the staff. You could see that they truly enjoyed serving their guests. It had the feel of people who know the long hours and hard work that go into preparing great barbecue, and who take genuine pride in watching others enjoy it. The customer service was top notch. At checkout they even gave each of my children a Hot Wheels car. It felt almost like a quiet congratulations for making it through the line, a small reward before the feast. We waited nearly an hour for our meal, and I would stand in that line again without complaint. Few establishments earn that kind of loyalty, but Station 8 BBQ has done so through honest work, excellent food, and the kind of hospitality that leaves a lasting impression. A man respects a place that knows its craft and executes it well. Station 8 does exactly that, and I look forward to returning.
